Role Overview
The Head of Events & Conferences at 7awi Media Group will lead the strategy, development, and execution of all events, activations, and conferences across the MENA region. This role combines creativity, business acumen, and operational excellence to deliver recurring revenue-generating experiences aligned with 7awi’s mission of informing, entertaining, and inspiring audiences while building lasting client partnerships.
The primary responsibility is to achieve a minimum revenue target of $1M USD in 2026, driven by sponsorships, ticketing, partnerships, and cross-platform integrations.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and own the Events & Conferences business plan aligned with 7awi’s 2026 vision.
- Build and manage a calendar of flagship and recurring events (industry conferences, brand activations, awards, networking summits).
- Drive innovation in event formats, hybrid experiences, and thought-leadership platforms.
- Align event strategy with 7awi’s editorial brands (Inc. Arabia, Layalina, ArabsTurbo, UAE Moments, etc.) to maximize audience and brand relevance.
Business Development & Revenue
- Deliver $1M+ revenue target through sponsorships, exhibition sales, delegate tickets, and media partnerships.
- Identify and pitch strategic brand and government partners (e.g., tech, automotive, luxury, FMCG, telcos, tourism boards).
- Collaborate with 7awi’s sales, branded content, and Social Camels agency teams to design cross-media packages.
- Build long-term relationships with industry associations and stakeholders to cement 7awi as a regional event leader.
Event Execution & Operations
- Oversee full lifecycle of events: concept, planning, budgeting, production, marketing, execution, and post-event analysis.
- Manage vendor relations (venues, production, logistics, AV, F&B, staffing).
- Ensure flawless event delivery with a focus on audience experience, ROI for sponsors, and strong media coverage.
- Implement scalable frameworks for recurring events to ensure operational efficiency.
Team & Collaboration
- Build and lead a dedicated Events & Conferences team (sales, production, marketing, partnerships).
- Collaborate with editorial, creative, video, and social teams to integrate storytelling into events.
- Mentor team members and instill a culture of ownership, accountability, and innovation.
Finance & Reporting
- Own and manage the P&L for the Events & Conferences unit.
- Set clear KPIs: revenue, attendance, sponsorship retention, NPS, media reach.
- Provide monthly and quarterly reports to management with progress towards $1M target.

- Revenue Target: $1M USD in 2026.
- Events Portfolio: At least 8–10 events (mix of flagship and recurring).
- Client Retention Rate: 70%+ renewal of sponsors/partners.
- Attendance: 10,000+ attendees across events.

Qualifications & Experience
- 10+ years of experience in events, conferences, or exhibitions, preferably in MENA.
- Proven track record of delivering $1M+ revenue portfolios.
- Strong network of corporate and government decision-makers.
- Experience managing P&L, budgets, and cross-functional teams.

- Fluent in English (Arabic a strong plus).
